Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club Opens

Action News out of Philadelphia caught up with MBPC owners at the Ribbon Cutting on February 18th and got great footage of the ceremonial ribbon cutting, the 26,000 sf facility, as well as, a demonstration of “how to play” by some of the MBPC instructors. They documented the momentous occasion as Mayor Bert Steinmann of Ewing Township , Paula Sollami Covella (County Clerk), representatives from the Princeton Mercer and Lower Bucks Chambers of Commerce and Karin Rentschler, the official United States of America Pickleball Association Ambassador for the Greater Mercer County Area all joined in. Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club is open for business!

Eight Great New and Newly Renovated Pickleball Court Centers

Pickleball Craze Has Made Its Way to NJ!

As reported by the NJ Digest Online, Pickleball has brought a new level of sports frenzy to people all over the U.S.-New Jersey is no different! Facilities have been opening in different parts of the state for pickleball enthusiasts. In fact, NJ has just welcomed the largest pickleball club in all of the Northeastern region– that is us- Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club! New Jersey Embraces Pickleball Craze With Biggest Club in the Northeast

“Now the Northeast’s largest Pickleball facility is set to open in Ewing.”

NJ Monthly caught wind of the neighboring Yardley, Pennsylvania, couples the Voelzkes and Gabrieles who began playing Pickleball in their cul-de-sac during the pandemic. Back then, they were happy with just a makeshift court which only required a net and tape. Soon enough, the retired empty-nesters were Pickleballing every day. The quartet’s desire to play didn’t die down as winter approached, but indoor options were lacking. So the friends became business partners and Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club was born.

Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club Set to Open in Ewing

U.S 1 PrincetonInfo.com shared the news about how owners visited Pickleball facilities across the country to make sure they could bring the best-of-the-best to Mercer and Bucks counties. While it wasn’t easy to find the perfect structure that was also in a great location, the owners of Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club are excited that they found the perfect combination of both in Ewing, NJ.

It was fall 2020, when the Voelzkes and the Gabrieles decided to stripe a court with painter’s tape in their cul-After Mayor Bert Steinmann’s visit to Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club, the township website educated its residents on what Pickleball is and encouraged them to check MBPC out! They told their residents about what a fun and easy to play activity Pickleball is and how lucky they all were to have Mercer County’s first indoor dedicated pickleball facility located right on Sullivan way in Ewing.

After Bonding Over the Sport, Yardley Foursome Serves Up Indoor Pickleball Site

What started as a painter’s tape court in a Yardley cul-de-sac has blossomed into a 26,000-sq.-ft. indoor pickleball facility, launched by two couples.”

It was fall 2020, when the Voelzkes and the Gabrieles decided to stripe a court with painter’s tape in their cul-The Gabrieles and the Voelzkes bonded over the quirky game in the summer of 2020, playing on a homemade court at the end of their driveways. They enjoyed the fun and fitness aspects and appreciated the socialization it brought. Little did they know that some months later they would be going into business together and turn that affinity for the sport into a business.

It was fall 2020, when the Voelzkes and the Gabrieles decided to stripe a court with painter’s tape in their cul-de-sac. They both hadbecome obsessed with the fun and fitness elements of the game and enjoyed getting to know each other, as new neighbors, over many games of pickleball right at the end of their driveways. With many of their friends in both Mercer and Bucks counties looking for an indoor pickleball solution, both couples decided to team up to build Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club. MercerMe is the first publication to publicly share the origin story of how Mercer Bucks Pickleball Club came to be. After researching every indoor Pickleball Club on the Eastern seaboard and beyond and then scouring Mercer and Bucks counties for the perfect location, owners Sharon and Bob Voelzke and Becky and Frank Gabriele look forward to opening their doors during January 2022.
